Discretion And Sound Judgment

“주의 말씀들이 들어오면 빛을 주며 이 빛이 단순한 자에게 명철을 주나이다”(시 119:130, 한글킹제임스)

오늘의 본문 구절에서 “단순한”으로 번역된 단어는 히브리어 “페티이(pethiy)”로, “바보 같은” 또는 “어리석은”이라는 뜻입니다. 그리고 “개방적인”, “유혹하기 쉬운”이라는 의미도 내포하고 있습니다. 이 단어는 어떤 새로운 생각이든지 받아들일 준비가 된 사람을 잘 묘사합니다.

개방적이거나 유혹하기 쉬운 사람은 어디선가 “이 세상에는 세 명의 신이 있습니다”라는 이야기를 들으면 동의합니다. 그러다 라디오에서 누군가 “사실 이 세상에는 다섯 명의 신이 있다”라고 말하면 거기에도 동의할 것입니다. 또 누군가 다가와서 신은 없다며 다른 이론을 제시하면 거기에도 고개를 끄덕입니다. 잘못된 것입니다! 그것은 바보가 되는 길입니다.

그런 사람들은 명철(이해)이 필요하므로 주님의 말씀이 그들에게 들어가야 합니다. 주님의 말씀은 명철을 보장합니다. 하나님의 말씀은 어리석음을 쫓아내고 당신에게 지혜를 줄 것입니다. 디모데후서 3:15은 성경이 능히 당신을 지혜롭게 만들 수 있다고 말합니다. 할렐루야!

사람들이 올바르게 처신하거나 행동하지 않을 때, 그들에게 말씀을 알려주십시오. 말씀이 그들 속에 들어가면 변화가 생길 것입니다. 만약 그들이 소심했다면, 그들은 담대하고, 슬기롭고, 분별력 있고, 예리하고, 신중하게 됩니다. 말씀이 그들의 삶에서 일어나는 일들을 지혜롭게 처리하도록 만들 것입니다(수 1:8).

골로새서 3:16은 말합니다. “그리스도의 말씀이 너희 속에 풍성히 거하여 모든 지혜로…” 당신 안에 말씀이 많으면 많을수록, 당신은 더욱 지혜로워져 다른 사람들과 대화할 때 건네는 말 또한 은혜롭고, 탁월하고, 사랑스러워질 것입니다.

고백

그리스도의 말씀이 내 안에 풍성히 거하여 모든 지혜로 충만합니다. 그러므로 나는 슬기롭고, 분별력 있고, 예리하고, 신중합니다. 나에게는 지혜와 건전한 판단력이 가득합니다. 오늘도 나는 일어나는 모든 일을 탁월하게 처리하고, 정확한 판단과 결정을 내립니다. 말씀이 내 안으로부터 나를 앞으로 나아가게 하기 때문입니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

DISCRETION AND SOUND JUDGMENT 

“The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple”(Psalm 119:130).  

The word translated “simple” is the Hebrew, “pethîy”; it means to be foolish or silly. It also connotes being “open-minded” or seducible. It aptly describes someone who's open to any new thinking about anything. 

The open-minded or seducible person could have heard, “There are three gods,” and agree. Then, soon he listens to a podcast where the speaker says, “There’re actually five gods”; he’ll also agree to that. And then, someone else comes up with another theory that says there’s no God; and he also agrees. No! That’s being a simpleton. 

Such folks need the entrance of God’s Word to give them understanding. It’s guaranteed: God’s Word will eject foolishness and impart wisdom to you. 2 Timothy 3:15 tells us that the Holy Scriptures are able to make you wise. Hallelujah! 

When people aren’t behaving or acting right; refer them to the Word. When the Word gets into them, there’ll be a transformation. If they were timid, they’d become bold, sagacious, discerning, discrete, perceptive, and prudent. The Word will cause them to deal wisely in the affairs of life (Joshua 1:8 AMPC).

Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom….” The more of the Word you have inside you, the wiser you become, such that even your choice of words in dealing with others will be gracious, excellent, and loving.

CONFESSION 

The word of Christ dwells in me richly in all wisdom, therefore, I’m sagacious, discerning, discrete, perceptive, and prudent; I exude wisdom and sound judgment. I deal excellently in all my affairs today, and make accurate judgments and decisions, for the Word propels me from within, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
