“걸작품” 그 이상입니다
More Than A “Masterpiece”
“모든 성경은 하나님의 감동으로 된 것으로 교훈과 책망과 바르게 함과 의로 교육하기에 유익하니 이는 하나님의 사람으로 온전하게 하며 모든 선한 일을 행할 능력을 갖추게 하려 함이라”(딤후 3:16-17)
어떤 사람들은 성경을 존중하면서도 단지 “매그넘 오푸스(Magnum Opus)”라고 여기기도 합니다. 성경을 “매그넘 오푸스”라고 부르는 것은 “대작” 혹은 “걸작품”이라는 뜻입니다. “대작”이라 하면 성경이 “위대한 작품” 또는 “걸작”이라는 뜻입니다. 이 단어는 어떤 분야에서 가장 중요하거나 유명한 작품을 말하며, 뛰어난 퀄리티나 중요성을 지닌 문학, 예술 또는 음악 작품을 설명할 때 자주 사용됩니다.
하지만 그런 모든 좋은 설명들도 여전히 성경이 무엇이고, 어떤 내용을 담고 있는지 제대로 설명하지 못합니다. 첫째, 성경은 성령의 감동으로 된 것입니다. “모든 성경은 하나님의 감동으로 된 것으로…”(딤후 3:16) 따라서, 성경은 계시입니다. 곧 하나님의 호흡을 모아둔 책이며, 글로 나타난 하나님의 계시입니다.
구약부터 신약까지 읽을 때, 우리는 하나님의 메시지 혹은 말씀하신 내용인 그분의 증언을 읽는 것입니다. 물론 성경은 천사들이나 사람들, 심지어는 마귀와 사탄이 한 말도 포함하고 있습니다. 심지어 민수기 22:28-30에는 동물(나귀)의 말도 우리를 위해 기록되어 있습니다. 그러나 여전히 성경은 하나님의 증언입니다.
그러므로 성경은 걸작품 그 이상입니다. 성경은 하나님의 진리의 책입니다. 성경은 신뢰할 수 있고, 믿을 수 있습니다. 성경을 향한 당신의 믿음을 견고히 하십시오.

사랑하는 아버지, 당신의 말씀인 성경을 가질 수 있는 특권에 감사드립니다. 당신의 말씀은 내 발에 등이요 내 길에 빛임을 인식합니다. 내 마음과 생각은 그 안에 담긴 진리와 지혜를 받아들이기 위해 활짝 열려 있습니다. 나는 당신의 영과 성경으로 인도 받으며, 내 믿음이 강건해지고, 내 마음이 새롭게 됩니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

MORE THAN A "MASTERPIECE"
"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works"(2 Timothy 3:16-17).
There are those who even though revere the Bible, merely think of it as a Magnum Opus. By saying it’s the "Magnum opus" they mean that the Bible is a "great work" or "masterpiece"; as it were, one of the most significant or renowned piece of work in any field, often used to describe a literary, artistic, or musical work of exceptional quality or significance.
But all such nice descriptions still fall short of what the Bible is and represents. First, the Bible is Spirit inspired: "Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration)…” (2 Timothy 3:16 AMPC). Thus, the Bible is a revelation; a compilation of the out-breathings of God; it’s God’s revelation given in words.
When we read the Bible, from the Old Testament into the New Testament, we’re reading God's message, or what God said—His testimony. Of course, the Bible also contains what others said, such as angels, humans, demons, and even Satan. Even what an animal (a donkey), said is recorded for us in Numbers 22:28-30. But still, the Bible is God's testimony that they all said what they said.
Therefore, much more than a Magnum Opus, the Bible is God’s document of truth, and it’s trustworthy and dependable. Let your faith in it be unshakeable.
Prayer
Dear Father, I thank you for the privilege of having your Word, the Holy Scriptures. I acknowledge that your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. My heart and mind are open to receive the truths and wisdom contained therein. I’m guided by your Spirit and the Holy Scriptures, as my faith is strengthened, and my mind renewed, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
