You Are The Light: Personalize It
“너희에게 아직 빛이 있을 동안에 빛을 믿으라 그리하면 빛의 아들이 되리라 예수께서 이 말씀을 하시고 그들을 떠나가서 숨으시니라”(요 12:36)
마태복음 5:14에 있는 예수님의 말씀을 기억하십시오. “너희는 세상의 빛이라 산 위에 있는 동네가 숨겨지지 못할 것이요” 세상이 어둠 가운데 있지만 당신은 세상의 빛입니다. 또한 예수님은 요한복음 8:12에서 이렇게 말씀하십니다. “나는 세상의 빛이니 나를 따르는 자는 어둠에 다니지 아니하고 생명의 빛을 얻으리라.”
예수님은 요한복음 9:5에서 다음과 같이 선포하십니다. “내가 세상에 있는 동안에는 세상의 빛이로라.” 이제 예수님께서 승천하셨음을 기억하십시오. 따라서 이제는 우리가 이 세상의 빛입니다. 우리가 예수님을 대신하여 살고 있기 때문입니다. 예수님은 우리 안에 거하시고, 우리를 통해 다스리십니다.
데살로니가전서 5:5은 말합니다. “너희는 다 빛의 아들이요 낮의 아들이라 우리가 밤이나 어둠에 속하지 아니하나니.” 빛의 자녀라는 말은 우리가 곧 빛이라는 뜻입니다. 아마 이렇게 반문할 수도 있습니다. “크리스 목사님, 그건 추측이 아닙니까?” 그렇다면 에베소서 5:8에 등장하는 바울의 아름다운 계시를 읽어보십시오. “너희가 전에는 어둠이더니 이제는 주 안에서 빛이라 빛의 자녀들처럼 행하라.”
우리가 전에는 어둠이었으나 이제는 주 안에서 빛이 되었음을 주목하십시오. 하나님을 송축합니다. 당신이 이 세상에 있는 한, 당신은 세상의 빛입니다. 이것이 당신의 선포가 되어야 합니다! 당신이 그 가족, 학교, 마을, 공동체, 도시, 혹은 지역에 있는 한, 당신은 빛입니다! 이 사실을 당신의 실재로 받아들이십시오.

YOU ARE THE LIGHT: PERSONALIZE IT
"…While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them"(John 12:36).
Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:14: "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid." The world is in darkness, but you’re the light of the world. In John 8:12, He said, "I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."
In John 9:5, Jesus declared, "As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world." Remember Jesus has ascended to heaven; therefore, we’re now the light of the world because we live in His stead; He lives in us and reigns through us.
1 Thessalonians 5:5 says, "Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness." Being children of light means we’re light. You might say, “Pastor Chris, isn't that a conjecture?” Read Paul’s beautiful revelation in Ephesians 5:8; it says, "For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light."
Notice that it says we used to be darkness, but now we are light in the Lord. Blessed be God. As long as you’re in this world, you’re the light of the world. This should be your declaration! As long as you're in that family, that school, town, community, city, or that region, you are the light! You have to personalize it.
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you that I am the light of the world, illuminating, enlightening, revealing, and manifesting the glory, manifold graces, beauties and perfection of divinity to my city, state, nation and region. I’m a city set on a hill that can’t be hidden. I’m making the Name of the Lord Jesus known, and bringing men and women into righteousness. Amen.
