죽음이 없는 길
The Death-Free Pathway
“의의 길에는 생명이 있고 죽음이 없다.”(잠 12:28, 우리말성경)
오늘의 본문 구절은 구약에 있지만, 신약에도 적용되는 원리의 기초가 됩니다. “의의 길에는 생명이 있고…” 그리스도의 의는 우리에게 영생을 주었습니다. 우리는 하나님을 기쁘시게 할 수 없었지만, 예수님이 우리를 대신해서 그렇게 하셨습니다.
아담은 하나님께 불순종하고 하나님께 반역을 일으켰습니다. 그러나 두 번째이자 마지막 아담이신 예수 그리스도께서 하나님의 뜻을 이루셨고, 그분의 순종으로 우리가 의롭게 되었습니다. “그런즉 한 범죄로 많은 사람이 정죄에 이른 것 같이 한 의로운 행위로 말미암아 많은 사람이 의롭다 하심을 받아 생명에 이르렀느니라 한 사람이 순종하지 아니함으로 많은 사람이 죄인 된 것 같이 한 사람이 순종하심으로 많은 사람이 의인이 되리라”(롬 5:18-19)
오늘의 본문 구절의 의미에 대해 생각해 보십시오. “의의 길에는 생명이 있고 죽음이 없다.” 의의 길에는 죽음이 설 곳이 없습니다. 그 길은 죽음이 없는 길입니다.
로마서 8:2은 말합니다. “이는 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 생명의 성령의 법이 죄와 사망의 법에서 너를 해방하였음이라” 이 구절을 그리스어로 보면, 죄에 갇힌 사람이 죄에서 구출되거나, 죽음에 사로잡혀 있던 사람이 구조되거나 구출된다는 뜻이 아닙니다. 오히려 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 당신은 죽음에서 해방되었다는 의미입니다. 당신 안에는 죽음이 없습니다.
인간의 몸은 로마서 7:24에서 “사망의 몸”으로 언급됩니다. 사람은 태어난 순간부터 그 안에 죽음을 가지고 있습니다. 그리고 죽지 않기 위한 모든 일을 합니다. 이는 인류가 이 세상 안에 있는 죽음의 저주를 물려받았기 때문입니다.
그래서 바울은 “오호라 나는 곤고한 사람이로다 이 사망의 몸에서 누가 나를 건져내랴”(롬 7:24)고 말합니다. 그 다음 절에서는 “우리 주 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 하나님께 감사하리로다…”(롬 7:25)고 말합니다. 예수님은 해결책을 주셨습니다. 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 생명의 성령의 법이 우리를 사망에서 해방시켰습니다. 하나님을 찬양합니다!

사랑하는 아버지, 나에게 영생을 주신 그리스도의 의에 감사드립니다. 따라서, 나는 의 가운데 행합니다. 그리고 내 길에는 질병, 연약함, 고통, 약함이나 사망이 없습니다. 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 생명의 성령의 법이 나를 사망에서 해방시켰기 때문입니다. 아멘.

THE DEATH-FREE PATHWAY
"In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death"(Proverbs 12:28).
Though the verse above is in the Old Testament, it lays the groundwork for a principle that extends into the New Testament. It says, "In the way of righteousness is life….” The righteousness of Christ gave us eternal life. We couldn’t please God, but Jesus did in our behalf.
Remember that Adam disobeyed God and committed high treason against God. But Jesus Christ, the second and last Adam, fulfilled God's will and on account of His obedience, we’ve been made righteous: “Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.”(Romans 5:18-19)
Consider again the construction in our opening verse: "In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death." In the path of righteousness, death has no place; it’s a "death-free pathway."
The Bible says in Romans 8:2, “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death." The Greek construction here isn’t referring to being delivered from sin as if you were trapped in it, or being rescued or delivered from death as if you were in its clutches. Rather, it’s saying that in Christ Jesus, you’re death-free; there’s no death in you.
The human body is referred to as the "body of death" in Romans 7:24. From the moment a person is born, they carry death within them. Everything is done to prevent the person from dying. This is because humanity inherited the curse of death in the world.
So Paul says, “O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?” (Romans 7:24). The very next verse says, "I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord….” (Romans 7:25). Jesus provided the solution; the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made us death-free. Praise God!
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the righteousness of Christ by which I have eternal life. Therefore, I walk in righteousness; and in my path, there’s no sickness, infirmity, pain, weakness or death, for the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me death-free. Amen.
