Speak The Truth
“이는 우리가 이제부터 어린 아이가 되지 아니하여 사람의 속임수와 간사한 유혹에 빠져 온갖 교훈의 풍조에 밀려 요동하지 않게 하려 함이라 오직 사랑 안에서 참된 것을 하여 범사에 그에게까지 자랄지라 그는 머리니 곧 그리스도라”(엡 4:14-15)
잠언 19:9은 말합니다. “… 거짓말을 뱉는 자는 망할 것이니라” 그리스도인은 거짓말을 해서는 안 됩니다. 골로새서 3:9은 말합니다. “너희가 서로 거짓말을 하지 말라 옛 사람과 그 행위를 벗어 버리고” 거짓말을 하는 것은 그리스도 안에 있는 새로운 피조물인 당신의 본성과 일치하지 않습니다. 당신은 진리의 사람입니다. 당신은 진리의 자손이기 때문입니다. “… 자기의 뜻을 따라 진리의 말씀으로 우리를 낳으셨느니라”(약 1:18)
거짓말은 사탄의 주요 속성 중 하나입니다. 주 예수님은 요한복음 8:44에서 사탄에 대한 적절한 설명을 해주셨습니다. “… 그는 처음부터 살인한 자요 진리가 그 속에 없으므로 진리에 서지 못하고 거짓을 말할 때마다 제 것으로 말하나니 이는 그가 거짓말쟁이요 거짓의 아비가 되었음이라”
하나님의 말씀은 진리입니다(요 17:17). 그리고 성령님은 진리의 성령이십니다(요 16:13). 거짓말쟁이는 단순히 거짓말을 하는 사람일 뿐 아니라 거짓을 사랑하고 만드는 사람입니다. 그는 거짓을 꾸밉니다(계 22:15). 그는 거짓을 계획하고 거짓에 대한 전략을 세웁니다. 그는 자신이 하는 일이 잘못된 것을 알지만 여전히 이기적인 이유로 그 일을 계속합니다.
또한 거짓말쟁이는 하나님의 말씀에 반대되는 말을 하는 사람입니다. 어떤 사람의 고백이 하나님의 말씀과 일치하지 않는다면 그것은 거짓입니다. 베드로전서 3:10은 교훈적인 내용을 알려줍니다. “그러므로 생명을 사랑하고 좋은 날 보기를 원하는 자는 혀를 금하여 악한 말을 그치며 그 입술로 거짓을 말하지 말고” 거짓을 말하는 것은 말씀과 반대되는 것을 말하는 것입니다.
성경은 말합니다. “하나님을 따라 의와 진리의 거룩함으로 지으심을 받은 새 사람을 입으라”(엡 4:24) 이제 당신은 그리스도 안에 있으므로 새 사람을 입었습니다. 당신은 하나님의 본성을 갖고 있습니다. 그 본성을 따라 행동하십시오. 항상 진리를 말하십시오
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 내가 진리 가운데 행하도록 나를 인도하시고 이끄시는 성령님께 감사드립니다. 그리스도 안에 있는 나의 새로운 생명에 감사합니다. 내가 그리스도 안에 있는 새로운 생명과 본성의 영광 안에서 행할 때, 나를 성령의 자유함 안으로 인도해 주시니 감사합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

SPEAK THE TRUTH
"That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:"(Ephesians 4:14-15).
Proverbs 19:9 says, “…he that speaketh lies shall perish.” A Christian shouldn’t tell lies. Colossians 3:9 says, “Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds.” Telling lies is inconsistent with your nature as a new creation in Christ. You’re a man or woman of truth, because you’re the offspring of Truth: “Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth…” (James 1:18).
Lying is one of the cardinal attributes of Satan. In John 8:44, the Lord Jesus aptly described Satan when He said, “…He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”
The Word of God is truth (John 17:17). And the Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of Truth (John 16:13).
Now, a liar isn’t merely someone who told a lie, but one who loves and makes a lie; he constructs lies (Revelation 22:15); he plans or strategizes his lies. He knows what he is doing is wrong but still goes ahead to do it for selfish reasons.
A liar is also one who speaks contrary to God’s Word. As long as a man’s confessions are inconsistent with God’s Word, they’re lies. 1 Peter 3:10 reveals something instructive; it says, “For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile….” To speak guile is to speak in antithesis to the Word.
The Bible says, “… put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness” (Ephesians 4:24). Now that you’re in Christ, you’ve put on the new man; you have the God-nature; act accordingly. Speak the truth always.
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the Holy Spirit who leads and guides me to walk in truth. Thank you for my new life in Christ; thank you for bringing me into the liberty of the Spirit as I walk in the glory of my new life and nature in Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
