Enjoy The Transcendent Life
“도둑이 오는 것은 도둑질하고 죽이고 멸망시키려는 것뿐이요 내가 온 것은 양으로 생명을 얻게 하고 더 풍성히 얻게 하려는 것이라”(요 10:10)
오늘의 본문 구절은 마음을 따뜻하게 하고 활기가 넘치게 합니다. 이 구절은 예수님이 오신 구체적인 이유, 즉 당신이 생명을 받고 풍성히 누리게 하기 위함이라는 것을 분명하게 밝힙니다. 잠시 이 사실에 대해 묵상해 보십시오. 예수님은 그분께서 당신에게 주신 초월적인 생명을 당신이 누릴 수 있도록 하기 위해 오셨습니다. 그것인 그분의 계획이며 그분은 당신을 속이지 않으십니다.
이는 종교의 가르침과 반대됩니다. 종교에서는 하나님을 기쁘시게 하기 위해 자신을 희생해야 한다고 느낍니다. 그러나 그리스도 안에서는 그렇지 않습니다. 그분은 당신을 위해 죽으시고 희생하셨습니다. 그분은 당신이 하나님의 생명을 가질 수 있도록 자신의 생명을 내어주셨습니다.
성경은 말합니다. “우리가 아직 죄인 되었을 때에 그리스도께서 우리를 위하여 죽으심으로 하나님께서 우리에 대한 자기의 사랑을 확증하셨느니라”(롬 5:8) 또한 사도 요한은 요한일서 3:16에서 다음과 같은 진리를 밝혀줍니다. “그가 우리를 위하여 목숨을 버리셨으니 우리가 이로써 사랑을 알고…” 하나님께 감사드립니다. 그리스도는 우리를 위해 생명을 내어주셨고, 우리를 의롭게 하기 위해 살아나셨습니다. 이 진리에 근거하여 당신은 생명을 받고 넘치도록 누려야 합니다.
어떤 사람들은 그들이 하나님의 생명을 받고 누리게 하기 위해 예수님이 오셨다는 사실을 받아들이기 어려워할 수도 있습니다. 특히 그들이 예수님에 대해 오랜 시간 다르게 이해하고 살아왔다면 더 그럴 것입니다. 또 어떤 사람들은 질병, 고통, 약함, 연약함과 싸우면서 정말 생명을 누릴 수 있는지도 궁금해할 수도 있습니다.
그러나 대답은 분명합니다. 이미 언급했듯이, 예수님은 감염될 수 없는 그분의 생명, 즉 아픔과 질병 위에 있는 생명을 주셨기 때문에 우리는 아플 필요가 없습니다. 요한일서 5:11-12은 말합니다. “… 이 생명이 그의 아들 안에 있는 그것이니라 아들이 있는 자에게는 생명이 있고…” 당신은 지금 그 생명을 가지고 있습니다. 그것은 하나님의 생명입니다. 그 생명을 누리십시오!
하늘에 계신 당신의 아버지는 당신이 건강하고, 활기차고, 강하고, 즐겁고, 생기 넘치는 것을 보기 기뻐하십니다. 따라서, 생명을 받고 충만하게 누리는 당신을 향한 그분의 계획을 받아들이십시오. 그리스도 안에서 당신에게 주신 영광, 다스림, 풍성한 은혜, 평안의 삶을 묵상하며 기쁨으로 넘치십시오. 할렐루야!
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 생명을 받고 충만하게 누리는 나를 향한 당신의 계획을 받아들입니다. 나는 당신께서 그리스도 안에서 나에게 주신 영광, 다스림, 풍성한 은혜, 평안의 삶을 묵상하며 오늘도 기쁨으로 넘칩니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

ENJOY THE TRANSCENDENT LIFE
"The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows”(John 10:10).
Our opening verse is so heart-warming and enlivening. It clearly states a specific reason for which Jesus came, which is for you to have and enjoy life to the full. Take a moment to meditate on this: He came for you to enjoy the transcendent life that He’s given you. That’s His plan and He doesn’t want anything to cheat you out of it.
This is contrary to what religion teaches. In religion, people may feel compelled to sacrifice themselves to please God. However, in Christ, it’s different. He died and was sacrificed for you. He gave His life for you to have His life.
The Bible says, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). In 1 John 3:16, the apostle John reveals, "Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us…." Thanks be unto God; after laying down His life for us, He was raised for our justification. And on that basis, you’re to have and enjoy life—to the full, till it overflows.
It may be challenging for some to believe that He came for them to have life and enjoy it, especially if they've lived with a different understanding for a long time. Some others may wonder, can one truly enjoy life while battling sickness, pain, weakness or infirmity of the body?
The answer is evident—no! But as already stated, it’s the reason Jesus gave us His life, which is uninfectable; a life that’s superior to sickness and disease. 1 John 5:11-12 says, “…this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life….” You have that life now; it’s the God-life. Enjoy it!
It’s your heavenly Father’s delight to see you healthy, vibrant, strong, joyful, and brimming with life. Therefore, embrace His plan for you to have and enjoy life to the full. Be exuberant with joy as you contemplate the life of glory, dominion, abundant grace, and peace that He’s given you in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!
PRAYER
Dear Father, I embrace your plan for me to have and enjoy life to the full. I’m exuberant with joy today as I contemplate the life of glory, dominion, abundant grace, and peace that you’ve given me in Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
