God’s Executive Assistants
“… 내가 네게 나타난 것은 곧 네가 나를 본 일과 장차 내가 네게 나타날 일에 너로 종과 증인을 삼으려 함이니”(행 26:16)
오늘의 본문 구절에서 “종”으로 번역된 그리스어는 “후페테스”로 공직자, 보자관을 의미합니다. 주님께서 바울에게 “너를 나의 조수, 보자관 삼는다”고 하신 것입니다. 얼마나 영광스러운 일입니까? 성경은 우리가 그분의 증인이라고 말합니다. 그분은 우리를 새 언약의 능력 있는 일꾼, 화해의 일꾼으로 만드셨습니다(고후 3:6). 할렐루야!
고린도후서 5:18은 말합니다. “모든 것이 하나님께로서 났으며 그가 그리스도로 말미암아 우리를 자기와 화목하게 하시고 또 우리에게 화목하게 하는 직분을 주셨으니” 당신은 메시지를 가지고 있습니다. 당신은 목적을 가지고 있습니다. 당신의 일은 너무나 중요합니다. 당신의 일은 사람들이 예수님을 발견하고, 그들이 어둠과 죄와 죽음에서 나와 의와 영생 안에 들어가도록 돕는 것입니다. 정말 대단한 사역입니다!
당신은 하나님의 대표자입니다. 따라서, 당신은 하나님께서 맡기신 메시지를 담대하게 전해야 합니다. 당신은 그 메시지를 능력으로 확신 있게 전해야 합니다. 당신이 속한 나라의 정부 관료들을 떠올려 보십시오. 그들이 얼마나 담대하고 자신 있게 일하고, 행하고, 말하는지 상상해 보십시오. 그들은 자신 뒤에 정부가 있다는 것을 알고 있습니다.
당신은 천국의 정부를 대표합니다. 그러므로 당신은 신성한 권세의 보호를 받습니다. 주님은 마태복음 28:19에서 “하늘과 땅의 모든 권세를 내게 주셨으니”라고 말씀하셨습니다. 그리고 그 권세에 근거하여 다음 절에서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. “그러므로 너희는 가서 모든 민족을 제자로 삼아 아버지와 아들과 성령의 이름으로 세례를 베풀고 내가 너희에게 분부한 모든 것을 가르쳐 지키게 하라 볼지어다 내가 세상 끝날까지 너희와 항상 함께 있으리라 하시니라”(마 28:19-20)
온 세상에 복음을 전하라는 예수 그리스도의 명령보다 더 중요한 명령은 없습니다. 예수님은 우리에게 가서 그분의 이름으로 말하고 행하라고 명하셨습니다. 우리는 열방을 제자 삼고 그들에게 어떻게 살아야 하는지 보여주는 그리스도의 대사들입니다.
당신의 세상에서 효과적인 증인이 되십시오. 복음을 전하려는 불타는 열정으로 당신의 세상에 있는 모든 사람이 곧 오실 주님의 재림을 준비하도록 하십시오. 당신이 그들이 복음을 듣고 받아들일 마지막 혹은 유일한 소망일 수 있습니다. 그리스도를 위해 영혼을 구원하도록 모든 기회를 활용하십시오!

사랑하는 아버지, 나를 복음의 효과적인 증인 삼아주시니 감사합니다. 나는 복음을 전하려는 불타는 열정으로 충만합니다. 나는 그리스도를 위해 영혼을 구원할 모든 기회를 활용하며, 흔들리지 않는 열정과 확신으로 아버지의 메시지를 전할 수 있도록 신성한 능력과 힘을 받았습니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

GOD’S EXECUTIVE ASSISTANTS
"…for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee"(Acts 26:16).
The Greek word translated minister above is “huperetes” and it means an official, an executive assistant. That's what the Lord said to Paul, “to make you my assistant, my official executive assistant.” What an honour. The Bible says we’re His witnesses; He’s made us able ministers of the New Testament (2 Corinthians 3:6), ministers of reconciliation. Hallelujah!
2 Corinthians 5:18 says, “…And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation.” You have a message; you have a purpose. Your job is so important: it’s to help men and women discover Jesus, bringing them out of darkness, sin, and death into righteousness and eternal life. What a ministry!
You’re His representative; therefore, you have to be bold with the message that He’s committed to you. You have to preach it confidently and with power. Think about the officials in your country who represent the government; imagine how bold and how confident they work, walk and talk—because they’re conscious that their government is behind them.
You represent the government of Heaven; therefore, you’re backed by divine authority. The Lord said in Matthew 28:18, “…All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” Then on the basis of that authority He said to us in the very next verse, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen” (Matthew 28:19-20).
There’s no higher mandate than the one given to us by Jesus Christ to take the Gospel to every man’s world. He has commanded us to go and speak and act in His Name. We’re His ambassadors, to make students of the nations, to show them how to live.
Be an effective witness in your world. Have a burning passion to make the Gospel known, and get everyone in your world ready for the Master’s soon return. You might be the last or only hope they have to hear and receive the Gospel. Take advantage of every opportunity today to win souls for Christ!
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for making me an effective witness of the Gospel. I’m filled with a burning passion to make the Gospel known. I seize every opportunity to win souls for Christ, divinely empowered and strengthened to share your message with unwavering enthusiasm and conviction, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
