You Have The Authority Of Jesus
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All
power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father, and of the Son,
and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe
all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and,
lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the
world. Amen (Matthew 28:18-20).
In our opening scripture, Jesus tells His disciples
that all power (authority) in heaven and on
earth has been given to Him. Philippians 2:9-10 says,
“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and
given him a name which is above every name: That
at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things
in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth.”
The Father gave all authority to Jesus. It wasn’t
all the presidents of the world that came together
and vested all authority on Jesus; it wasn’t done by
democracy; it was God’s sovereign discretion. He
alone could do such a thing. Now, Jesus says to us,
the believing ones, “On the basis of the authority
given to me by the Father, I commission you to go
preach the Gospel and teach all nations.” He delegated
His authority to the Church, to go make pupils and
students of the nations of the world; to teach them
how to live.
Your authority in Christ is perfect and absolute. No
evil, demon, or darkness can resist it as you preach the
Gospel with boldness everywhere. Mark 16:17-18 says,
“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my
name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with
new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they
drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they
shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
This is a sovereign declaration of deity. It’s a law in the
realm of the spirit. When you speak in the Name of
Jesus, it’s as though Jesus Himself were speaking.
Therefore, do all things in His Name; live in the
authority of His Name. Refuse to allow the devil run
rampage in your environment; use your authority in
Christ against the devil and he’ll have no choice but
to flee. Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear Father, I thank you for the privilege and authority to use
the Name of Jesus; the Name that is above all names. At the
Name of Jesus, demons tremble, chains are broken, doors are
open, and mountains crumble.
And in the power and authority of that Name, I go forth today in
victory, reigning and ruling over circumstances,
in Jesus’ Name.Amen.
