HE LOVES YOU MORE THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life (John 3:16).
God’s love for man is unfathomable. When
the Bible says, “God so loved the world,” it
wasn’t the hills, mountains, vegetation, rivers, etc. in
the world that He loved; it was the world of men—you
and me! He loved us so much He sent Jesus to take
our place of sin on the cross, so that we might take
His place of righteousness: “For he hath made him
to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be
made the righteousness of God in him” (2 Corinthians
5:21).
John 15:13 says, “Greater love hath no man than
this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” The
Lord Jesus laid down His life for us, like no one ever
did. He was divine, righteous and without sin, but was
offered up as a sacrifice for the sin of the world. He
wasn’t the first to be crucified, but He was the first to
be crucified of His own will in the place of others.
He could have said no; He could have saved
Himself; but He chose to go on and die for sinners—the
criminals, murderers, robbers etc. He died in their
place, because of His great love for them. Everything
He did was for the love of man. In John 10:10, He
declared that His purpose for coming was that man
may have life, and have it to the full.
Jesus came, lived, worked wonders, died, and
resurrected, all for the love of man. Think about this:
He didn’t come to save us because we were many,
no! If you were the only one on the face of the earth,
Jesus would still have come to save you. You’re that
important to Him. You’re the object of His love. He
loves you more than you could ever imagine.
Walk every day in, and with, the consciousness of
His everlasting love for you. He said to Jeremiah, “…I
have loved thee with an everlasting love; therefore with
lovingkindness have I drawn thee” (Jeremiah 31:3).
Prayer
Dear Father, I thank you for the great love with which
you’ve loved me. I’m confident in your love, knowing
that there’s no condemnation for me. Now, more than
ever, I express this love to my world, blessing them
with what you’ve blessed me with. I’m a dispenser
of your love in Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
