The Power That Works In You
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding
abundantly above all that we ask or think,
according to the power that worketh in us,
Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus
throughout all ages, world without end. Amen
(Ephesians 3:20-21).
If there’s anything you want God to do for you,
the power to make it happen is in you, and not
in heaven. Many think that when they need anything,
God will stretch His hands from heaven to fix things.
No! As a baby Christian who’s yet to understand
spiritual things, you may relate to God in that manner
and get some results, but after a while, you’ll have to
put away childish things.
It’s like what we read about the Apostles in the
early Church, when they were being persecuted. They
prayed, “And now, Lord, behold their threatenings:
and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they
may speak thy word, By stretching forth thine hand to
heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the
name of thy holy child Jesus” (Acts 4:29-30). At this
time, they were still maturing in their understanding
of the Gospel; it was still a baby church.
We didn’t read that God actually “stretched forth
His hands from heaven” to do the miracles as they
requested. Rather, the Bible says, “And when they
had prayed, the place was shaken where they were
assembled together; and they were all filled with the
Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with
boldness” (Acts 4:31). God’s answer was the Holy
Spirit whom they had received.
The Holy Spirit is the power of God, and all the
power you need for anything. He lives in you. When
there’s a matter; when there’s a need, stir up yourself
in the Holy Ghost by taking some time to meditate on
the Scriptures and speak in other tongues. As you do,
the power of the Spirit in you will be activated.
Prayer
Dear Father, I thank you, for you’re the One at work in me,
both to will and to do of your good pleasure. Your power in
me is activated to bring forth blessings and miracles today.
I declare that my life is as a wellwatered garden, and I bring
forth fruits, in and out of season, because I live by the Word,
in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
