담대함과 나아감

Boldness And Access

“이것은 곧 그분께서 그리스도 예수 우리 주 안에서 작정하신 영원한 목적에 따른 것이라. 그리스도 안에서 우리가 그분을 믿는 믿음을 통해 담대함을 가지고 확신 있게 나아감을 얻느니라.”(엡 3:11-12, 한글 흠정역)

오늘의 본문 구절을 다른 일부 성경 번역본으로 보면, 바울이 말한 심오한 간결함을 놓친 경우가 있습니다. 그들은 이 구절을 하나님의 임재 안으로의 담대함과 나아감을 가지는 것으로 번역했습니다. 그러나 우리는 그리스도 예수 안에서 성령으로 말미암아 이미 그것들을 소유하고 있습니다. 그렇다면 바울이 말한 내용의 실제 의미는 무엇입니까?

첫째, 이러한 맥락에서 담대함은 우리 자신에 대해 공개적으로 표현하는 자유를 의미합니다. 당신이 하고 싶은 말은 무엇이든지 할 수 있습니다. 세상의 제도는 제한적인 자유를 주지만, 그리스도 예수 안에서 우리는 원하는 바를 말할 완전한 자유가 있습니다.

우리는 아버지 앞에서, 천사들 앞에서, 심지어 귀신들 앞에서도 담대히 말할 자유가 있으며, 어느 곳에서든지 우리 자신을 자유롭게 표현할 자유가 있습니다. 이 담대함은 단순히 말을 하는 것 이상입니다. 우리가 말하는 것이 실제로 존재하게 합니다.

둘째, 우리에게는 “나아감”이 있습니다. 즉, 우리는 어디든지 갈 수 있다는 뜻입니다. 어떤 나라도 당신에게 닫혀있지 않습니다. 당신은 모든 나라, 모든 부, 모든 재물에 대한 접근권이 있습니다. 에베소서 3:12은 이에 대해 아름답게 설명합니다. “그리스도를 신뢰하면서 우리는 말해야 할 것은 무엇이나 자유롭게 말할 수 있고 가야 할 곳은 어디나 담대하게 갈 수 있습니다.”(메시지 성경)

그럼에도 불구하고 “나아감”이라는 단어에 대한 이해는 제한적입니다. 당신은 영적인 것과 물질적인 것, 그리고 전능하신 하나님의 지혜를 사용할 수 있습니다. 당신은 끝이 없고, 한량 없고, 측량할 수 없고, 헤아릴 수 없고, 다함이 없는 그리스도의 풍성함을 사용할 수 있습니다.

당신이 그리스도 안에서 사용할 수 있는 것이 무엇인지 알고 위대한 풍성함의 깊이를 이해할 때, 복음 전파를 아낌없이 후원하는 것은 당신의 삶의 방식이 됩니다. 당신이 끝없는 공급을 사용할 수 있다는 것을 알기 때문입니다. 할렐루야!

기도

사랑하는 아버지, 내가 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로 말미암아 담대함과 나아감을 얻었습니다. 예수 그리스도 안에서 나는 유업을 받았고, 그분의 신성한 뜻대로 예정되었습니다. 나는 아버지의 지혜와 그리스도의 한량 없는 풍성함을 사용함으로 상황을 초월하여 삽니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

BOLDNESS AND ACCESS

"According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him" (Ephesians 3:11-12).

If you read the opening text from some Bible translations, they missed the profound simplicity of what Paul was saying. They translated it as having access and boldness into God’s presence, but we already have that in Christ Jesus by the Holy Spirit. So what was Paul referring to here?

First, boldness in this context implies the freedom to express ourselves openly; being able to say whatever you want to say. While worldly systems grant freedom with limitations, in Christ Jesus, we have absolute freedom of speech.

We possess the freedom to speak boldly in the presence of the Father, angels, and even demons, and express ourselves freely anywhere. This boldness extends beyond uttering mere words; it empowers us to speak things into existence.

Secondly, we have “access”; meaning we can go anywhere. No nation can ever close its doors to you; you have access to every country, to every wealth and to all riches. Ephesians 3:12 MSG beautifully captures it; it says, “When we trust in him, we're free to say whatever needs to be said, bold to go wherever we need to go.”

Even with that, it has a limited understanding of the word "Access." It's not just about going wherever you need to go; you have access to the spiritual and the material, to the wisdom of Almighty God. You have access to an unending, boundless, fathomless, incalculable, and exhaustless riches of Christ.

When you grasp the depth of your access and vast wealth in Christ, giving and lavishly sponsoring the spread of the Gospel becomes a lifestyle, because you know you have access to an unending supply. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for I have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of Jesus Christ, in whom I’ve obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to His divine will. I live above circumstances, with access to your wisdom and exhaustless riches of Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Hallelujah!
